There are presently in excess of 105 million native speakers of Punjabi world-wide. It is the language that is most widely spoken in Pakistan and ranks 11th most widely spoken in India. Punjabi Writing

In Punjabi, there are two ways to write: Gurmukhi and Shahmukhi. Gurmukhi, meaning “Guru’s mouth”. Is generally used for writing Punjabi in Punjab. Shahmukhi, meaning “from the King’s mouth”, is used for writing Punjabi in the Punjab province of Pakistan.
